Eastin Grand Hotel Sathorn, Bangkok - Reviews

See what some of our delighted guests have had to say about the Eastin Grand Hotel Sathorn Bangkok.

“Amazing!”

We looooved this place!

This was our first hotel in Thailand: we stayed 3 nights in an executive room.

First: the place. The hotel is directly linked to the skytrain which is a really big advantage! There is so much trafic in Bkk that this transport will make you save tim.

The welcome: since we had an executive room, we had to check in at the executive floor (32nd) which was nice.
Our room (3207) was beautiful! With a very nice river view. We loved it!
The room was cleaned at leat twice a day! You really feel like it's a five star service!

Then, we got to enjoy a free-aperitif every night which was amazing!
An excellent wine selection and very good food :-) we were very happy about that.

Last but not least: the pool is great! We went there at least once a day and every time, was a good moment.

We loved our stay in this hotel and we cant wait to go back!!

“great hotel, excellent location”

Our stay was very pleasant and we enjoyed it thoroughly. The best thing about the hotel, the breakfast, location and swimming pool. The staff were helpful. Breakfast catered for every taste from Asian to Western. Typical buffet with everything there for you to indulge in. Pool was brilliant, better in morning when the sun is hidden. Too much glare in afternoon, Plenty of towels, big enough for doing some laps and very refreshing (in morning). Location was brilliant to public transport, Two train stops to the market, one to the river. Public transport works very well, is cheap and reliable. Highly recommended.

“Lovely and comfortable stay with easy access to the sky train”

My friend and me stayed four nights on the executive floor. We checked and checked out at the club floor which was very personalised.
We had a nice room that overlooks the Chao Praya river where we had magnificent views of the sunset from the full length windows.
The beds were very comfortable, great shower with a strong water supply. Enjoyed the free wifi and loved the turn down service where two bottles of water were placed at the bedside each night.
The daily breakfast and happy hour, 5 to 7pm at the club floor was enjoyable, with good food, drinks and service.
The hotel was connected to the Surasak sky train where made very accessible to move around Bangkok. Its just one stop away from the river where one can take the river cruise and and it also goes to Chatuchak market with just one change of station. The journey was about 20 mins by the skytrain and about a ten minutes walk to the market.
The infinity pool overlooked the city but it was always crowded, so we did not hang out there at all.
The only downside was that we could not adjust the aircon in the room but when we called housekeeping it was taken care off and the lifts do tend to be a little slow. But those are just minor details.
Would certainly recommend this hotel for a lovely and comfortable stay, it may be a little more expensive compared to other hotels but certainly worth the splurge for the club floor services.

Fantastic

We just stayed at the Eastin Grand for 2 nights. I couldn't find a single fault with the hotel. from the incredible pool, a breakfast that would satisfy every taste, first class service throughout, nice big room, comfortable bed, good location and right on the skytrain. Next time we are in Bangkok, we will definitely be staying at the Eastin.

Room Tip: Use the skyrtain to get around Bangkok. It just takes 1 ride to get the hang of it and then it's...

“Faultless..5 star all the way!”

My husband and I stayed at the Eastin Grand Sathorn in Bangkok in March 2013; three nights and our first time in Bangkok. This hotel was chosen for the value for money and the proximity to the skytrain (direct walkway from hotel to station - Patpong just four stops away; river one stop in the other direction). We could not fault the hotel, it's staff and facilities. Excellent 5 star service as one would expect from the warm and extremely accommodating Thai staff. Stayed in an Executive room - 30th floor. Excellent breakfasts with a huge variety and choice. 'Happy hour' in the evening for the Executive floor with canapes; there was so much on offer, it was close to a full blown buffet meal! Excellent value for money. Free rail passes for every day of our stay. Infinity pool overlooking the Bangkok skyline towards the river; magic at sunset! Would not hesitate in recommending this hotel highly and would definitely stay again.

2 weeks of chilled out bliss!

Myself and my sister were originally planning 2 weeks on the islands, but due to a big storm in the area we changed our plans last minute, and ended up in Bangkok. All we were looking for was 2 weeks of sunbathing, and much needed chilling out time, and we certainly got it in this hotel!

For us, the infinity pool and the surrounding poolside pods, sofas, sunbeds, really made this holiday for us. As soon as you step out of the elevators on the 14th floor you're greeted with this fantastic view (which is fab at night with all the city lights), the beautiful infinity pool and a very chilled out atmosphere! We pretty much spent every day by the pool (its all we wanted from our break), and after two weeks we really left all our stress behind.

Apart from the 14th floor, the bedrooms were great: spacious, clean, and again, great views from the floor to ceiling window. The beds were really comfy too, ensuring a great night's sleep. Every morning we had a fantastic choice at the buffet-style breakfast, with anything you could fancy - you won't go hungry!

A great advantage of the hotel is the direct access from the 3rd floor to the train station, where you are one stop from the river, in one direction, and, in the other direction, a couple of stops to main shopping areas at Sala Deang, or onto Siam, where you have two massive shopping malls. Also, very handily, there is a 7-11 convenience shop just across the road (just walk through the train station to get to the other side).

The 14th Floor poolside bar was also great at night for (yet more!) chilling out, with a cocktail or two!

I had a really wonderful holiday here, and I'll definitely be back, I've already been recommeding it to family and friends!

The only downside (as we primarily wanted to sunbathe), was that there aren't too many sunbeds in direct sunlight during the day, a good few of them have overhead shade. The poolside pods, while they don't get the sun until around midday, would then have the sun longer into the afternoon - and were also very comfy to sunbathe in as you can sit in them with your feet in the water (very cooling!).

All in all, I have zero regrets booking this hotel, and I can't imagine anyone else would either, it ticks all the boxes! :)

Such a blissful hotel

This is an absolutely wonderful place to stay. My family and i are currently here and i love it so much i had to write a review. First of all its brand new. As you walk in you're greeted by sweet and lovely staff. The hotel is very prestigious for its class. The pool is amazing, overlooking the city. The rooms are very clean and comfortable with expansive city views and finally the breakfast buffet is delicious with a wide variety of eastern and western dishes.

Tip: use the BTS that is part of the hotel (they should give you day passes for a 3 nights or more stay) and go to Siam square ane check out Centre World mall. Out of this world.

Enjoy your trip to BKK. It's a magnetic experience to say the least.

Eastin Grand

Superb hotel, I really can’t speak highly enough of this place. The sky train link made travelling around the city really easy and hassle free, the outdoor infinity pool was a great place to relax after sightseeing in the city, the rooms were smart and spacious and the breakfast included had a great selection and was faultless. If travelling here again I wouldn’t consider anywhere else.

“Deserved success”

This is a busy hotel and it deserves to be. The second stay for us in as many months. Good repeat guest recognition. Immaculate, practical rooms with complimentary wi-fi and a great breakfast, though some items from the buffet that we liked had been withdrawn since the previous visit. Well-equipped gym and a comfortable adjacent pool deck to chill out at afterwards.
Some outstanding staff members: thank you to Elle and M and Aof at the Glasshouse, Jim at the pool and Pollakrit the ever-helpful night manager. Need ice-cream at 3 in the morning? Just ask.
Probably the best value in Bangkok at present and highly recommended.

“Christmas stay”

Excellent new hotel....all facilities are in good working order with friendly & efficient staff. Fantastic Infinity pool on 14th floor. Great location with direct pedestrian overhead bridge access to Surasak BTS station from which it's 5 stops to Siam BTS & the big malls..Paragon, Central World etc. In other direction from Surasak, next BTS station is Saphhan Taksin on the Chao Phraya...take the river ferries from here up river to the Royal Palace, ChinaTown etc.
Hotel was 45mins by taxi from Don Mueng (DMK) - THB 350. Will stay here again on next trip to Bangkok!

Great hotel to explore Bangkok

Near city centre, few stops to ferry up the river to main tourist sites
Very pleasurable stay. Good breakfast array. Room service reasonable. 7-Eleven outside the hotel, as is a cookery school/restaurant. There is an entrance to the BTS Skytrain directly from the hotel on the 3rd floor. Pool on the 14th floor overlooks Bangkok. A good place to sip a beer or cocktail whilst admiring the view
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: BTS Skytrain (or a short ride to Taksin for the ferry service) will take you to most places of interest to tourists in Bangkok. Chinatown is a shortcab/bus ride away

THe best of the best

helpful staff, great location, food, rooms, view

This hotel was one of the best Ive stayed in. Perfect location with direct access to the sky train, staff was very friendly and helpful, room was big, clean with great view. The infinite choice at the breakfast was amazing, food, service and everything else was awesome. I also have to mention the pool, where we spent most of our stay at the hotel

I really enjoyed my stay here. The hotel was very clean and the morning buffet was excellent. The infinite pool is amazing. They also have a pretty decent size gym. The concierge was very helpful. The best part was the bts. It connects right from the hotel.

Fantastic stay, Highly recommended and you won't go hungry!

I have previously stayed at at an Eastin in Bangkok and wasn't let down by the service and accomodation, so was excited to find out that there was a new hotel opening in the Sathorn region of Bangkok. I eargerly booked and found out that I would be one of the first guests to stay as it was the opening weekend !! Flying in from Sumui, I had booked a two night stay at the Eastin before returning to London. Around about a 30/40 min cab ride from the airport (appocx 400 baht £8) The Eastin Grand was certainly a 'Grand' experience! With a vast, luxurious foyer, cascading chanderliers, immaculately dressed and attentative staff....I felt a little bit underdressed in flip flops and shorts! After the staff had worked out the new till systm and checked me in! I was shown to a vary spacious room which had a very 'brand new' smell to it. Liking the thought that I would be the first to stay in the extremely comfy beds!! Great view over Bangkok, with a superb bathroom and all the room facilities you would expect from a high end hotel. But the best was yet to come! Having had a stroll around the hotel and finding the fantastic view from the pool, I was informed about the crab buffett. This got me excited !! On entering the restaurant, I was again greeted by a number of staff including the Executive chef Alan who was an Ozzie. Had a good chat with him and he was very knowledgable about all the food that was on offer and showed me through all the different stations which also included fillet of beef, rice and noodle section. He also knew his wines and recommended an Australian white to compliment the crab. Full marks to Alan!! As well as the extensive buffet there was also a great range of food available on the al carte menu.A nice touch to the buffet was also a help yourself ice cream section, great for the kids although I did find myself returning to this a few times! My only criticism with the restaurant is that the staff were a little too helpful which can get slightly annoying....sometimes you just want a little bit of piece without everyone fussing! apart from that the whole experience was very impressive. With the location of the hotel a hop, skip and a jump from the BTS Surasak station, I would highly recommend a visit to the Eastin Grand....you will not be dissapointedLondon, United Kingdom

Great value in a brand new hotel! Awesome place to relax and indulge

Brilliant hotel which is only 2 months old. We booked through their website 2 nights in superior room with Executive privileges for only $60 each! Gormet Buffet beakfast, snacks during the day, open bar in the evening and a BTS Skytrain pass each got each night we stayed. Such good value we cannot fault it. We are backpacking for 4 months and 2 nights here was a treat to ourselves in the middle of our trip. The view from the pool level is great and the lounge on the 32nd floor. Stay here when in Bangkok it was great and staff so friendly and helpful

Brand new hotel lives up to expectations

New hotel, tastefully decorated, friendly staff, great breakfast, stunning pool

Hotel is brand new and completely lived up to our expectations. the breakfast was wonderful - a sumptious mix of european and thai cuisine. the hotel room was spacious enough and we had a wonderful view onto bangkok's skyline. the bed was excellent and we slept very well on the very good mattresses. staff was friendly and always had a warm smile for us. a big bonus was the direct access via a covered bridge to the skytrain, which we preferred to taxis - airconditioned, fast and immune to the bangkok traffic chaos

“Very handy. Nice pool area...”

Stayed at the Eastin for 5 nights and found it very handy. Its right on the second sky train stop, so you can get to anywhere very easily. It is away from all the young backpackers and would be better for people traveling with a family or partner. I wouldn't recommend it for a solo traveler unless you want a relaxing solo holiday, and not on the search for company.

The rooms look exactly like the photos, view is beautiful and the breakfast is what you would expect from a 5 star buffet.

The cheapest rooms i found were through agoda.com at 75$ a night- an absolute bargain for what you get!

An affordable and wonderful gem of a hotel in Bangkok

I spent two nights at the Eastin -- at the beginning and end of a recent business trip to Thailand. The Eastin reminds me of just how wonderful being back in Asia is. Everything was smooth from the excellent service at the front desk, from check-in to check-out. I had a room on the 29th and 31st floors, and they were spacious, well-equipped, and had everything you'd need, from fast wireless to a large flat-screen TV. I felt pampered and happy in such luxurious surroundings. The breakfast was incredible and I loved the fact that in the middle of the Rainy Season, you could take a footpath over to the Sky Train without getting wet.

Great hotel Large clean room, right off Silom skytrain line

One of the nicest hotels I've been in. Very convenient location with a pedestrian ramp connecting to Surasak station on Skytrain. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The linen was nice and soft. The beds new. Had the best sleep at this hotel than the 5 others I stayed at on this particular trip. The towels were new, soft and thick. Not hard, thin and old at some other places. I will definitely return!
